The El Paso Reading Council, affiliated with the International Reading Association and Texas State Reading Association, has been active for thirty seven years serving professional educators and community members interested in literacy involvement. The council serves El Paso, Hudspeth, and Culberson Counties in Texas.

The El Paso Reading Council, Inc. is part of a worldwide literacy organization affiliated with the International Reading Association and the Texas State Reading Association that promotes, supports, encourages, maintains, and values on-going development of literacy.

Vision Statement

The El Paso Reading Council, Inc. is committed to:
  • PROMOTING literacy by introducing cutting-edge strategies, hosting forums and workshops featuring prominent authors and researchers, and building capacity in the local, state, and international organizations.
  • EDUCATING the community through the sponsorship of various projects in collaboration with community organizations.
  • EMPOWERING educators, parents, and students to continue achieving and maintaining a literate-rich life.
